My recommendation would be if you do not care about the battery, speaker or having a hybrid workflow of doing standalone/controller mode then just buy the One. citizens spend 90 for every extra 1 they earn. The legendary Prophet 5 is without question one of the great analog synths of all time, with its fat analog tones gracing some of the greatest music ever made. Visit our guide here for a complete walkthrough. However if you don't care about that then you can still expand the One's storage out through a SD card or USB stick. Remember, people do two things with their disposable income, consume it or save it. MPC expansion that captures the legendary sound of the Prophet 5 analog synth. The MPC 2.3 firmware update for MPC Live and MPC X can be installed directly from a USB drive without connecting the MPC to a computer (current firmware must be 2.1 or later). This makes it a LOT easier to seamlessly move between working standalone and working in controller mode on a PC, which is something I do quite frequently.

Neither MPC will allow you to mount your internal storage drive and access it when you have it connected to a PC, but it will mount your additional internal storage.

The extra storage is nice but it really only becomes absolutely necessary when you want to switch between working on a PC with the MPC and working standalone. However there are shortcuts you can utilize on the Live such as holding the menu button down and then pressing the pad which corresponds to the menu you want to go into, I don't think a lot of people realize this. With the Live you need to go into the main menu to go into Program Edit. The nice thing about the One is that it has a lot more dedicated buttons on the device for things such as Program Edit. There are differences in the layout but I wouldn't call them drastic.
